Medical Surveillance Evaluations

We assess each workplace’s unique hazards, and create a customized medical surveillance (screening) program for each employer. Based on the needs of the specific workplace, surveillance may include review of medical history, physical examination, and chest x-ray. Biomonitoring with TB tests, blood lead levels, and cholinesterase levels are commonly performed.

Examples of employees who receive medical surveillance include:

  • HAZMAT team members
  • Peace officers with exposure to clandestine laboratories
  • Pesticide workers
  • Workers with exposure to lead/heavy metals
  • Outdoor workers at risk for heat-related illness
  • Divers
  • Health professionals
  • Laboratory workers
